AIPSO's Response to "New Bridge Training Investment Means Better Opportunities for Newcomers"

The Ministry of Citizenship and Immigration is to be commended for the initiatives announced on May 18th, 2006 for investment in bridging training for newly immigrated foreign trained professionals. AIPSO supports all initiatives that can help integrate well qualified and competent foreign trained trades persons and professionals into the Canadian workforce.

In the context of the above, AIPSO has, in March 2006, successfully completed Part 1 of the Career Transitions project for helping foreign trained medical doctors who have decided to transition into new fields in the healthcare system in Canada. We hope that we can continue to assist the government to integrate more foreign doctors into the alternate employment within the healthcare industry in the years to come.
